KWA achieve Planning Permission for Innovative Biomass Boiler at the British Racing School

KWA has achieved planning permission for a Biomass Boiler at the British Racing School.

Currently, stable waste from the 71 horses is stored onsite and removed at regular intervals while onsite energy is provided by an oil fired burner. The introduction of the Biomass Boiler will remove the requirement to export stable waste and import oil. The stable waste will be burned in the Biomass Boiler and converted to produce enough energy to supply the site with both heating and electricity. Potentially, the amount of energy created could be in excess of that required onsite and if such a situation arose the British Racing School would be able to sell excess energy back to the grid.

The proposal will not only be cost efficient, but cost beneficial and furthermore will significantly reduce the carbon footprint created by the deliveries of oil and removal of stable waste that currently occurs on site.
